Carry-on or checked baggage?
The 1560 is not a cabin case: at 45.5 cm wide and 26.5 cm deep it exceeds every common carry-on limit. As checked baggage it fits comfortably – its dimensions add up to 128 cm, well under the 158 cm linear limit many airlines use for standard checked bags. With foam it weighs just over 9 kg, leaving roughly 14 kg of a typical 23 kg allowance for your equipment. Always check your airline's current rules before you fly. If your kit has to travel in the cabin, look at the Peli 1510 or the Peli Air 1535.
Peli 1560, Peli 1510 or Peli Air 1535?
All three are Peli cases on wheels, but they solve different problems. Inside, the 1560 measures 50.6 × 38.0 × 22.9 cm, against 50.2 × 27.9 × 19.3 cm for the Peli 1510 and 51.8 × 28.4 × 18.3 cm for the Peli Air 1535 – about 10 cm wider and 3.6 to 4.6 cm deeper. Choose the 1560 when your equipment no longer fits a cabin case or travels as checked baggage or by car; choose the 1510 or Air 1535 when it has to stay with you on board. The 1560 also shares wheels, latch-and-handle sets and the backplate with the 1510, so spare parts are easy to find.
Which interior is right for you?
Pick N Pluck™ foam (two layers plus convoluted lid foam) suits kit that rarely changes: pluck out the cubes for a fitted cut-out, but plucked cubes cannot be put back cleanly. Padded dividers are quick to rearrange – ideal for cameras, lenses and drones you pack differently for every job. TrekPak™ uses thin, rigid dividers held by U-pins, losing less space than foam while still being rearranged in minutes. Buy the case with no foam and you can add any of these later.
Accessories and spare parts for the Peli 1560
Wear parts can be replaced individually: left and right wheel assemblies, single wheels, rubber replacement wheels and an upgrade to rubber wheels, a replacement backplate, latch-and-handle sets in seven colours and single handles.
