Business or Private Purchase
European Union
If you are purchasing as a private individual, simply proceed to Checkout. (You will pay VAT at the rate applicable in your country, and it will appear on the sales document—the VAT will be remitted to your national tax authority.)
If you want to buy, pay VAT and receive a VAT OSS invoice recognized in your country, make a normal purchase and add your company details and TAX ID number in the order comments.
If you wish to take advantage of intra-community purchase (VAT-free purchase for businesses), please provide your VAT ID/TAX ID below in the format with the country prefix: DKxxx, DExxx, PLxxxx, etc. VAT will be deducted at the next step. Please use the same email address on this page and the next when filling in your details. (Do not do this if you have not registered with your tax office for cross-border transactions)
UK and Other Non-European Union Countries
We’ve noticed that the post-Brexit import rules still surprise many UK customers. This short guide explains the extra charges—and it also highlights how we differ from Amazon, which collects all fees upfront, whereas we do not.
Why VAT disappears at checkout
In countries outside the EU, you see the information: prices include VAT, and it is true, but the VAT is 0%, meaning they actually do not include VAT. Each export shipment outside the EU is subject to VAT, which will be collected from you by the transport company (subject to exemptions in the regulations of some countries for low-value shipments, such as the UK or Ukraine). The moment you enter a non-EU shipping address, the VAT line drops to zero. This may also happen based on your location detected by the store. We never collect or settle VAT for shipments outside the EU. If VAT ever sneaks onto your order, we refund it the same business day.
What you pay us
- Net product price – without EU VAT
- FedEx shipping – negotiated rates, usually cheaper than standard courier tariffs
What you pay when the parcel reaches your country
1 Local VAT
You pay the VAT rate in force in the destination country (e.g. 20 % in the UK).
2 Customs duty
Normally 2–3 %, but it depends on the HS code, the country and sometimes the number of different items. We try to declare a single HS code whenever possible to keep duties low.
3 FedEx Disbursement Fee
in UK FedEx fronts the tax/duty to customs and charges:
- 6.60–12.75 GBP or
- 2.5 % of the total VAT + duty amount, whichever is higher
When FedEx asks you to pay
Depending on route and destination, FedEx can request payment:
- Before delivery – via secure link while the parcel is in customs
- At delivery – to the courier, card or cash
- After delivery – by invoice if they release the goods first
If VAT accidentally appears on your order
Just drop us a message – we refund that VAT line the same business day. We do not want it, and we will not report it.
(We can see it ourselves, but you might spot it before we do).
