Cheap cases copy the silhouette; they rarely copy the tooling, the material quality, or the testing.
There is also a quieter cost driver: consistency. Every 1510 that leaves the factory has to be identical to the one a broadcast crew bought fifteen years ago, because the foam, spare parts and mounting accessories all depend on it.
2. What does the lifetime guarantee actually mean?
Peli famously stands behind its injection-moulded cases for life — if the case breaks, it gets repaired or replaced.
