The Peli BlackBox 3U 30-inch Rack Mount Case is a lightweight yet highly durable solution engineered for professionals who require reliable protection and transport for their 19-inch rack equipment. Crafted from tough Black-463 blended resin, it offers excellent impact resistance and light to medium-duty shock protection. The case features a 24-inch (61 cm) deep light-duty steel rack frame with a corrosion-resistant zinc black finish, engineered to carry payloads up to 45.4 kg while complying with ANSI/EIA 310-C standards.

Equipped with eight cylindrical elastomeric shock mounts mounted directly to the case shoulders, the BlackBox 3U provides 2 inches (5.1 cm) of sway space to isolate sensitive components from shocks and vibrations during transport. The front and rear lids measure 2.2 inches (5.6 cm) and 5.2 inches (13.2 cm) deep respectively, and both are fitted with molded-in 3.25-inch (82.6 mm) edge casters to facilitate smooth portability. Four plastic comfort-grip handles provide ergonomic handling.

The molded-in rib design enhances stacking capability and structural stability, while spring-loaded stainless steel hardware finished in nickel black ensures secure closure and long-term durability. The closed-loop gasket and built-in pressure relief valve maintain an airtight and watertight seal to protect contents from dust and moisture.
