Peli Euro-V 4U-S: The Short Rack Case Built for Serious Field Work
When rack-mounted equipment needs to travel — really travel — a standard cabinet simply isn't an option. The Peli Euro-V 4U-S is a purpose-built 4U transport case that brings industrial rotomoulded protection to professional 19-inch rack gear. Whether you're deploying broadcast infrastructure to a live event, shipping network hardware to a remote facility, or getting mission-critical electronics to the field, this is the case that gets the job done safely.
Designed for 19" EIA Standard Equipment
Inside the Euro-V 4U-S you'll find a steel rack frame built to the EIA 19-inch standard, with the industry-standard square-hole M6 pattern. Clip nuts are available separately for flexible mounting configurations. The 4U format (four rack units, approximately 177.8 mm usable height) accommodates audio processors, network switches, amplifiers, server modules, and a wide range of other rack-mountable devices.
The "S" in 4U-S stands for Short — with an interior depth of 610 mm, this case is optimised for compact equipment that doesn't require the full 762 mm depth of the Long variant. If you're working with deeper units — full-length servers, power amplifiers, or complex signal processors — consider the 4U-L instead.
Protection That Doesn't Compromise
The outer shell is rotomoulded from high-density polyethylene — the same construction approach used in Peli's Protector and Storm lines — for a seamless, impact-resistant structure with no stress points or weak joints. A silicone sponge O-ring gasket runs the full perimeter, sealing against dust and moisture during transport, while a built-in pressure relief valve (PRV) prevents the lid from being difficult to open after pressure changes in aircraft cargo holds or during altitude variations.
Inside, cylindrical wall-mounted shock mounts decouple your equipment from road vibration and sudden impacts. This is not passive padding — it is active mechanical isolation, designed to absorb and dissipate kinetic energy before it reaches sensitive electronics, hard drives, or precision instruments.
Mobility and Stacking for Large-Scale Deployments
Moving rack cases is physical work. Peli engineered the Euro-V 4U-S accordingly: eight ergonomic black plastic handles are positioned around the case for multi-person lifting in any orientation, and edge castors allow rolling across smooth surfaces without effort. Moulded stacking ribs on the lid and base enable secure vertical stacking with other Euro-V units and compatible cases — essential when loading a production truck or setting up a temporary operations room in the field.
German Engineering, Professional Hardware
Manufactured in Germany, the Euro-V 4U-S features stainless steel, black oxide-coated hardware throughout — latches, hinges, and fittings that resist corrosion in high-humidity or coastal environments. The smooth exterior finish reduces dirt and moisture accumulation during transport. This is a case built for the long term: equally at home in a climate-controlled server room or loaded into a military cargo vehicle in the rain.
