The certification was conducted by AITEX, an independent accredited ballistic testing laboratory in Spain — not by the manufacturer. What fits differently is the vest. The areal density of the ballistic material is held at a consistent 5.7 kg/m² across all sizes — the reduced weight of the XS is a direct result of the smaller protection area, not of any compromise in the quality or density of the ballistic material used.

At 1.60 kg, this is a vest that can be worn throughout an entire day without the cumulative fatigue that heavier protective equipment produces. The inner surface of the carrier is lined with Outlast® thermal regulation fabric — a phase-change material originally developed for NASA to manage temperature in the space environment. Applied here, it moderates heat build-up beneath the vest during activity, maintaining a significantly more comfortable microclimate than passive insulation or standard moisture-wicking materials can achieve. For a vest that may be worn for extended periods by someone who has not previously worn ballistic protection, this thermal comfort is a meaningful factor in whether the vest is actually worn consistently.

A vest that does not fit its wearer cannot protect its wearer. For slender or petite builds, this is a more acute problem than for average or larger frames: standard sizing tends to produce vests that are too wide, too long, and too heavy to sit correctly on a narrower body. The IMPACT 2 XS addresses this through panel dimensions and carrier proportions calibrated for this specific anthropometry. The Velcro cummerbund system adjusts precisely across the 67–74 cm waist range, holding the panels flat against the torso without creating lateral bulk. The shoulder straps adjust independently to accommodate torso length, keeping the front and rear panels correctly positioned over the vital organs regardless of height.

The vest contains no metal components, which contributes both to the low weight and to the complete absence of electromagnetic signature — the wearer passes through standard security screening without detection. The overall profile of the XS carrier is intentionally slim, allowing the vest to be worn discreetly under fitted clothing without creating visible outline.

Before You Open the Package

The ballistic inserts are delivered in hermetically sealed factory packaging — an unbroken seal from manufacture to delivery that guarantees the inserts have never been opened, exposed to moisture, or handled after quality control. The sealed insert can be placed into the carrier to verify fit before the seal is broken. At size XS, where fit precision matters most, this step is especially important. Once the hermetic seal is opened, the ballistic insert cannot be returned or exchanged. Confirm the fit before opening.
