Product overview
The SONLUX POWERTUBE II M is a mobile large-area LED luminaire made for fast, reliable illumination of demanding work zones. Its tubular format creates a wide 360° light field, so the scene stays evenly lit when people move around the setup. Instead of fighting hard shadows from a single direction, you get a calmer, more uniform environment that supports safer movement, cleaner cable work, and quicker inspections.
Why 360° lighting changes the workflow
Traditional work lights often aim like spotlights. They brighten one direction and leave deep shadows behind objects. POWERTUBE II M works differently. Light surrounds equipment, pallets, vehicles, and people. Shadows become softer and less distracting. A single luminaire can cover a surprisingly large area, which often reduces the number of fixtures needed on site.
Comfortable light for long shifts
The opal protective tube diffuses the LED output into a soft, glare-reduced illumination. This helps when crews work close to reflective surfaces, wet asphalt, metal structures, or glossy indoor floors. The colour temperature is 5000 K for a clear “daylight” character. With CRI 80, colours and markings remain readable, which matters for safety labels, cable identification, and tool recognition.
Output, efficiency, and real-world performance
This M version delivers a rated luminous flux of 24,000 lm with a system power of 187 W. With a system efficiency of 128 lm/W, it offers a strong output-to-power ratio for temporary installations. The beam distribution is down 180° and up 180°, which supports both floor tasks and elevated objects without forcing you to add secondary lights.
Control that fits temporary installations
The POWERTUBE II M uses a dimmable converter driver and supports DALI control. That makes it suitable for structured site lighting plans and professional temporary setups. For quick daily use, it can also be switched on and off and dimmed via a push-button. This gives you flexible brightness control without adding extra dimmer hardware at the luminaire body.
Use dimming to reduce glare and save energy
Not every job needs full output. Dimming helps when work is close to the luminaire, or when reflections cause eye fatigue. It also helps in public spaces and events where you want enough light to work, but not more than necessary.
Built for transport, repeated setup, and harsh conditions
POWERTUBE II M is designed for real daily handling. The housing is aluminium with a powder-coated finish. The base plate is steel and powder-coated, with rubber feet for grip and stability. The opal cover is made of impact- and break-resistant polycarbonate. These details matter when the luminaire is loaded, unloaded, repositioned, and packed many times per week.
Protection ratings that match jobsite reality
The luminaire is rated IP65 for protection against dust and water jets. Impact resistance is IK08, which helps against knocks during setup and transport. The filament test rating of 850 °C supports robust material selection for demanding environments.
Mounting options for changing work zones
POWERTUBE II M is flexible by design. It can be used on a tripod (mast), as a floor lamp, or suspended. The integrated holding sleeve fits a 30 mm stand spigot according to DIN 14640, so it matches common professional tripods used on construction sites, industrial maintenance, and event infrastructure. The top handle supports safe carrying and practical suspension when floor space must stay clear.
Practical placement tips
- Mount higher on a mast to expand the light field.
- Place on the floor for quick tasks and short interventions.
- Suspend to keep walkways clear and reduce trip hazards.
- Aim for even coverage, not maximum brightness everywhere.
- Dim when reflections make the zone uncomfortable.
Electrical planning and inrush behaviour
Temporary grids and generators can be sensitive to inrush peaks. This luminaire has defined inrush behaviour, which helps when you deploy multiple units on one circuit. Inrush current is 100 A with a duration of 209 µs. Practical circuit planning can follow these guidelines for the number of luminaires per fuse type: B10A up to 3 units, B16A up to 5 units, C10A up to 5 units, and C16A up to 8 units. Always apply local electrical rules, cable lengths, and the condition of the supply.
Transport and what is included
POWERTUBE II M is supplied with a 7.5 m supply cable (H07BQ-F) and a Type E+F plug (CEE 7/17). The longer cable supports flexible placement without immediate extension cords.
NOTE: The product includes only the lamp and a textile carrying bag. Masts (tripods) and any additional accessories are sold separately and can be selected as optional accessories.
