Product overview
The SONLUX POWERTUBE II M is a mobile large-area LED luminaire that delivers wide, comfortable illumination for temporary work zones. Its tube construction produces a true 360° light field, so the scene stays readable from every side. This reduces harsh shadows behind people, machinery, pallets, and barriers. It also helps keep the site organised, because fewer fixtures are needed to achieve uniform coverage.
This specific version uses a rugged toggle switch for straightforward operation. You can select Off, 180° illumination, or 360° illumination. That makes it easy to focus light on a defined work face or expand to full-area lighting when the team moves around the luminaire. No external controllers are required.
Three-position switch: Off / 180° / 360°
Temporary lighting often needs quick decisions. Full-area mode is perfect for teams working around the lamp. Half-area mode is ideal for boundaries, corridors, and work faces where you want to limit spill and reduce glare. With the POWERTUBE II M, you can switch modes in seconds. In 180° mode, the rated luminous flux is 12,000 lm. In 360° mode, it is 24,000 lm. This flexibility supports better energy use and cleaner lighting setups.
Practical power levels for daily work
In 180° mode, system power is 94 W. In 360° mode, it is 187 W. Both modes maintain a strong system efficiency of 128 lm/W. That means you get a lot of usable light without overloading the circuit plan. It also helps when you run multiple units on one temporary distribution.
Uniform light quality with 5000 K and CRI 80
The POWERTUBE II M uses a 5000 K colour temperature for a clear, neutral “daylight” appearance. With CRI 80, colours stay consistent for safety markings, wiring identification, and tool recognition. The opal polycarbonate diffuser spreads the light evenly and reduces glare. This is valuable on wet asphalt, metal surfaces, and glossy indoor floors where reflections can cause eye fatigue.
Rugged build for transport and harsh conditions
The housing is aluminium and powder-coated for durability. The base plate is steel, powder-coated, and fitted with rubber feet for stability and grip. The diffuser tube is impact- and break-resistant polycarbonate, built to withstand frequent packing and repositioning. The luminaire is rated IP65 for protection against dust and water jets and IK08 for impact resistance.
Designed for jobsite reality
Fast relocations and tight schedules are normal in temporary lighting. This luminaire is built to be carried, mounted, and packed repeatedly. A high-temperature filament test rating of 850 °C supports robust material selection for demanding environments.
IP68 plug concept for wet and exposed locations
This version is supplied with a Type E+F plug (CEE 7/7) with an IP68-rated plug concept. It is a practical advantage when conditions are wet, muddy, or unpredictable. Think of rain, spray, splash zones, and puddle-prone ground. The goal is better reliability at the connection point and fewer interruptions on outdoor work.
Mounting options: mast, floor, or suspension
POWERTUBE II M can be used on a mast (tripod), as a floor luminaire, or suspended. The integrated holding sleeve fits a 30 mm stand spigot according to DIN 14640, which matches common professional tripods used for large-area lighting. Suspension is useful when you need the floor clear for access routes, loading, or safe movement around equipment.
Setup tips that improve coverage
- Mount higher on a mast to expand the light field.
- Use 180° mode for corridors and defined work faces.
- Use 360° mode when teams work around the lamp.
- Route cables away from walkways to reduce trip risks.
- Keep the diffuser clean for stable uniform output.
Electrical planning and inrush behaviour
Temporary grids and generators can be sensitive to inrush peaks. This luminaire has defined inrush behaviour: 100 A with a duration of 209 µs. For practical circuit planning, the guideline is: up to 3 luminaires on a B10A fuse, up to 5 on B16A, up to 5 on C10A, and up to 8 on C16A. Always apply local electrical regulations and consider cable length, supply quality, and site conditions.
What is included
NOTE: The product includes only the lamp and a textile carrying bag. Masts (tripods) and any additional accessories are sold separately and can be selected as optional accessories.

Where this version fits best
If you want the M-size POWERTUBE with the simplest switching concept and extra confidence at the connection point, this is the right choice. Use 180° mode to light a defined area without over-lighting. Switch to 360° mode when the work zone expands and teams move around the luminaire. The IP68 plug concept helps when weather and ground conditions are not ideal.
NOTE: The product includes only the lamp and a textile carrying bag. Masts (tripods) and any additional accessories are sold separately and can be selected as optional accessories.
