A Perfect Cube Interior — by Design

The defining feature of the Peli 0340 is its interior geometry. At 45.72 cm (18 inches) in all three dimensions, the case encloses a mathematically perfect cube. That makes a tangible difference when packing cubic equipment housings, spherical objects, or gear that occupies space equally in all directions — no awkward diagonal packing, no padding corners with wasted foam. Externally the case measures 52.07 × 52.07 × 48.9 cm, an impressive volume in a footprint that still fits in cargo holds, equipment bays, and vehicle boots. With approximately 95 litres of interior space, the 0340 rivals much larger cases while remaining far easier to handle.

Triple-Layer Polypropylene Shell

Built with a triple-layer construction — two harder outer skins sandwiching a softer, energy-absorbing core — the Peli 0340 distributes impact forces across its full surface rather than concentrating stress at a single point. Reinforced hinges prevent the lid from being torn off under sudden lateral force, while carefully rounded edges stop cracks from propagating when the case is dropped on a corner. The result is a case that absorbs real-world punishment: sustained vibration on long vehicle convoys, the rough handling of freight systems, and the accidental drops that happen in the field.

Watertight Seal and GORE-TEX® Pressure Equalisation

A continuous O-ring gasket runs along the full perimeter of the lid, creating an airtight, watertight seal that locks out water, dust, sand, and humidity. Working alongside the O-ring is an automatic pressure equalisation valve equipped with a GORE-TEX® membrane — essential for air transport or high-altitude operations. As ambient pressure changes during ascent and descent, the valve allows air to pass through the membrane in either direction without admitting moisture. This prevents the vacuum lock that can make sealed cases impossible to open after a flight, while keeping the interior completely dry regardless of external conditions.

Two-Step Latches and Lockable Security

The dual two-step latch system requires a deliberate two-stage motion — push back, then lift — to open. Vibration, road shock, and accidental contact cannot trigger the latches, eliminating the risk of the case springing open in transit. Each latch integrates a padlock hole, allowing you to secure the case with standard padlocks for shipping sensitive equipment, meeting airline regulations for declared equipment transport, or simply keeping the contents secure in an unattended vehicle.

Heavy-Duty Wheels and Multi-Point Handling

Integrated heavy-duty wheels with stainless-steel bearings roll smoothly over airport terminals, warehouse floors, and uneven outdoor terrain. A drag handle allows comfortable single-person transport across long distances. Multiple ergonomic handles — positioned on the side and top — provide secure lifting points when the case is fully loaded, making it manageable even with heavy equipment inside.

The Peli 0340 is available in two interior configurations:

• Pick & Pluck™ foam: Pre-scored foam cubes that you remove by hand to create a precise fit around your equipment. No cutting tools required — simply pluck out the squares you need and your case is ready within minutes.
• No foam (bare interior): Ideal if you plan to install custom dividers, use your own foam solution, or transport equipment that benefits from a fully open interior space.
