The outer shell is injection-moulded from high-impact copolymer with an open-cell core and solid outer-wall construction — genuine crush resistance without unnecessary weight. Double-throw latches snap the lid shut firmly and release smoothly when you need fast access under pressure.

The lid gasket and O-ring seal create a continuous watertight barrier. Rain, spray, submersion, dust — the contents stay protected. The automatic pressure equalization valve deserves particular attention: as altitude changes during a flight or mountain crossing, pressure differentials build inside a sealed case and can make it surprisingly difficult to open. The Peli valve equalises automatically, so the 1300 opens at 35,000 feet just as easily as it does at sea level.
