Three Ways to Equip the Interior

The Peli 1550 is available in three distinct interior versions, each suited to a different type of loadout. The Pick N Pluck™ foam version ships with a pre-scored grid of removable foam cubes — pull them out by hand to create precisely shaped recesses for every item in your kit. A convoluted foam pad in the lid adds a second cushioning layer from above. The padded divider version swaps the foam for a set of adjustable, padded dividers and a padded top tray — the standard choice for photographers and videographers carrying a main body, a second body, and a set of lenses side by side. Sealed Against the Elements

The O-Ring gasket runs continuously around the lid perimeter, creating an airtight, waterproof seal that keeps out moisture, fine dust, and contaminants. The automatic pressure equalization valve balances internal and external air pressure silently and continuously — no vacuum lock when you open the case after a flight or a rapid descent from altitude. The open cell core construction with solid wall design keeps the shell rigid and impact-absorbing across its entire surface, not just at the corners. Latches, Handle, and Security

The two Easy Open Double-Throw latches disengage with a single smooth motion — no tools, no fumbling, and no hesitation even when your hands are cold or gloved. The rubber over-moulded handle is contoured for a secure, fatigue-free grip during extended carries. Both latches include stainless steel padlock protectors: fit a standard padlock on each side and the case is locked against unauthorised access in shared vehicles, checked luggage, or any environment where security matters.
