Rigid Thin-Panel Dividers — Maximum Compartments Without Sacrificing Interior Space

Standard foam inserts protect well but commit you to a fixed layout the moment you finish cutting. The TrekPak system takes a fundamentally different approach: rigid panels just 11 mm thick snap together at any position across the full floor of your Peli Air 1485, forming a reconfigurable grid of individual compartments sized precisely to your current equipment loadout. Because the panels are thin, solid, and self-supporting, they stand straight and firm at every height — there is no foam to compress over time, no soft divider that migrates under load. Each compartment holds its boundaries exactly as set, so a lens barrel, a radio handset, a medical instrument, or a fragile electronic module sits in its own walled cavity rather than resting against shared foam that can deflect or deform under repeated packing and unpacking. The result is a case interior with significantly more usable space than foam — thin panels waste nothing — and compartments that look the same after the hundredth use as they did on the first.

Steel U-Pins and Dual-Blade Cutter — Reconfigure in the Field Without Tools

Each TrekPak panel is secured in position with a stainless-steel U-pin that passes through the panel and locates in a small notch cut into an adjacent panel or the case wall. Pushing the U-pin in takes seconds; pulling it out takes equally little effort. This means the entire layout is reconfigurable without adhesives, fasteners, or foam-cutting: when a project changes or a new piece of equipment joins the loadout, you pull the relevant pins, reposition the panels, and re-pin the new configuration. The included dual-blade cutter lets you trim a panel to an exact custom length cleanly and without fraying — the two blades score opposite faces simultaneously and the panel snaps apart along the scored line, leaving a perfectly finished edge ready for immediate installation. All trimmed panels retain their structural rigidity; there is no off-cut waste that weakens the divider at the cut point.

360-Degree Protection — Hard-Shell Walls, Padded Floor, and Cushioned Lid in One System

The TrekPak panels handle lateral separation and identification of individual items, but the full protection of the Peli Air 1485 requires cushioning on all six faces. This kit includes a fitted bottom foam layer that sits beneath all the panels and absorbs vertical impact energy when the case is set down hard or dropped. The convoluted lid foam — a shaped foam pad with a textured egg-crate surface — fills the underside of the lid and presses gently against the tallest items in the case when the lid closes, preventing any vertical movement during transit. Together, the rigid Peli Air 1485 shell, the TrekPak panel grid, the bottom foam, and the convoluted lid foam create a complete six-sided protective envelope: each item is separated laterally, padded from below, and restrained from above. This system is equally effective whether the case is in checked baggage, the back of a vehicle, or inside a helicopter or boat.
