The case underneath the kit

The shell is moulded from Peli's HPX²™ high-performance polymer, which is what makes an Air case up to 40% lighter than a comparable traditional hard case — the difference between a case you resent carrying through a terminal and one you barely notice. Lighter does not mean softer: the 1535 is MIL-SPEC certified for shock, vibration and pressure, and rated IP67, meaning it is fully dust-tight and stays sealed when submerged to one metre for 30 minutes.

A waterproof O-ring runs the full perimeter of the lid, and an automatic pressure equalization valve balances interior and cabin air pressure as you climb and descend — no vacuum lock fighting you at the gate, no moist air drawn in as the temperature drops. Press and Pull™ latches open in a single motion at security and close with a positive click; stainless-steel padlock protectors let you add a lock when the job calls for one. The retractable trolley handle and quiet inline stainless-steel bearing wheels handle terminal floors, cobbles and loading bays, and a fold-down over-moulded side handle gives you a second grab point when you are lifting the case out of an overhead bin at an awkward angle.

The two halves of this bundle solve two different problems. In the base, TrekPak's rigid pinned walls hold heavy, delicate items in a fixed position — nothing shifts, nothing settles into a corner during transport, and load is spread rather than concentrated on one lens barrel or one hinge. In the lid, the EZ-Click MOLLE panel takes the space that is normally dead air and turns it into mounting surface: pouches for the items you reach for constantly sit at eye level the moment the case opens, instead of being buried under the gear below them.
