The Peli™ Vault V700 Takedown Case is a long, rugged equipment case built around one problem that shorter cases can't solve: how do you carry something long — a broken-down rifle, a shotgun, a tripod, a set of C-stands or LED tubes — without it flexing, rattling, or taking up half a vehicle? At just under a metre wide and a slim 16.9 cm deep, the V700 is sized for exactly that kind of long, slender gear, with a customisable foam interior and weather-resistant construction to keep it protected in transit.

Built Tough

The shell is a single high-impact polypropylene moulding — crushproof, dustproof and weather-resistant, sealed along the lid by a polymer O-ring gasket. Four push-button latches clamp the case shut with an even, secure grip, yet open in seconds when you need access. Stainless-steel hinge pins run the length of the lid, heavy-duty ergonomic handles make a long, loaded case easier to carry solo, and a padlockable hasp lets you secure the contents at a range, in a vehicle, or in transit. Note: Vault cases are weather- and water-resistant, not submersible like Peli's Protector or Air ranges — the right choice when you need serious protection without needing an airtight dive-rated seal.

Four Layers of Foam, Nothing Shifts

Inside, the V700 ships with four layers of protective foam that can be customised — pulled, cut or configured — to cradle a takedown rifle, a broken-down shotgun, long instruments, tripod legs or awkward accessories so nothing shifts, knocks or wears against the shell during transport. Living With Your V700

Wipe the shell down with mild soap and water after dusty or muddy trips — avoid solvents, which can degrade the polypropylene over time. Keep the O-ring free of grit and check it periodically, since a dirty or damaged seal is the most common cause of reduced weather resistance. If a hinge pin ever needs to be replaced, knock it out with a punch and hammer rather than a screwdriver, and tap the new pin back in the same way — this keeps the hinge alignment true and avoids marring the hole. Store the case latched but not padlocked when not travelling, to keep the O-ring seated evenly, and let the foam breathe by leaving the lid cracked open during long storage periods.
