It creates a damped, resilient interface between the warehouse floor or truck bed and the pallet base, absorbing and dispersing the energy before it reaches your load.

Orange is the heavy-duty class within the Skid-Mate colour system. It is rated for loads that would exceed the capacity of the Green, Tan, Yellow, or Blue grades — all designed for lighter duty. Choosing the right colour class is critical: an overloaded pad compresses fully and stops damping. An underloaded pad never engages its working zone. Orange is calibrated for the range where heavy industrial pallets actually operate.

This listing is for the M8 threaded version — the standard metric fitting, compatible with common European hardware. You receive the pad only. Screws and the optional spacer are sold separately. The spacer is only required when additional pallet-jack clearance beneath the base frame is needed.

You select the hardware appropriate for your base material, control bolt length and washer specification, and maintain consistent torque across your equipment fleet. Planning Your Pad Configuration

Start with four corners

One pad per corner is the baseline. Four support points provide stable, balanced isolation. For long pallets or top-heavy loads, add mid-span pads to reduce frame flex and improve load sharing.

Calculate load per pad

Divide total pallet weight by the number of pads. Each Orange pad should carry between 56.7 and 102.1 kg. If the per-pad load falls outside this range, adjust pad count or switch to a different colour class.

Ensure flat, balanced contact

Damping requires uniform contact at every support point. Warped bases, point loads, or pads that are not fully engaged will reduce performance. Use a rigid, flat pallet frame and confirm that every pad is carrying its share of the load.

Dimensions and Clearance

The pad is a compact, round element designed for pallet base integration. Typical diameter: approx. Ø153 mm. Typical height: approx. 73 mm without spacer. If pallet-jack clearance is insufficient beneath the base frame, the optional spacer extends the height. Do not substitute with improvised shims — consistent height across all pads is essential for even load distribution and effective damping.
