Air 1535 or Air 1535 TRVL?

The standard Air 1535 is an equipment case: you choose the interior (no foam, foam, padded dividers or TrekPak) and build it around cameras, drones, laptops or instruments. The Air 1535 TRVL uses the same exterior size but is set up as travel luggage, with two integrated TSA-approved combination locks that security staff can open without damaging the case. If you pack clothes and a laptop, the TRVL is the natural choice; if you pack gear that needs a fitted interior, choose the standard 1535.

Which interior is right for you?

Pick N Pluck™ foam suits kit that rarely changes: pluck out the cubes for a fitted cut-out, but plucked cubes cannot be put back cleanly. Padded dividers with hook-and-loop are quick to rearrange and come in several colours. TrekPak™ uses thin, rigid dividers held by U-pins – less space lost than with foam, yet rearranged in minutes. Buy the case with no foam and you can add any of these later. The bundles on this page combine a case with a matching divider, lid foam or organizer at a lower price than buying the parts separately.

Is the Peli Air 1535 carry-on size?

Peli describes the 1535 as maximum airline carry-on size, and many airlines accept it in the cabin. To be precise: at 55.8 cm long including wheels it is 0.8 cm over the common 55 cm limit, and at 22.8 cm deep it exceeds fares with a 20 cm limit. Airlines that measure strictly can object, so check your airline's current dimensions before you fly. The case's own weight is its strongest point: at under 4 kg empty it leaves far more of a typical 7–8 kg cabin allowance for your equipment than a heavier hard case.

Peli Air 1535 or Peli 1510?

Both are carry-on-size Peli cases with wheels. The Air 1535 is the lighter choice and offers a slightly longer and wider interior (51.8 × 28.4 cm vs 50.2 × 27.9 cm), while the Peli 1510 is a little deeper inside (19.3 cm vs 18.3 cm), has the classic thicker Protector shell and the widest range of accessories and spare parts. If weight matters most, choose the Air 1535; if you want maximum ruggedness and interior depth, look at the 1510.

Wear parts can be replaced individually: a replacement backplate with wheels, rubber replacement wheels, a latch-and-handle set and single handles. Interiors can be swapped at any time – replacement foam sets, coloured lid foams, padded dividers in six colours and the TrekPak kit.
