The case body is smooth-surface rotomolded polyethylene, chosen for its combination of low weight and high impact resistance. Internal wall-mounted elastomeric shock mounts isolate the rack frame from the outer shell, giving the equipment inside meaningful protection against the shock and vibration it will encounter in road transport, aircraft cargo holds, and handling by ground crews. The hardware — catches, hinges, and handles — is zinc-cobalt black-plated steel, resistant to salt fog and the alkaline cleaners common in defence and broadcast environments.
